Netscape, Mozilla releases nudge up market share

ZDNet reports the latest Netscape and Mozilla version releases led to a slight uptick in share for non-Microsoft browsers.

Initial impressions from this Web designer: That's fine, as long as the new Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1 manage to finally squeeze out the awful, buggy, compatibility-choking Netscape 4.x and 6.x series! Soon, please!

Even with the latest Gecko-driven browsers, I'm sorry to say I still find it easier to develop for the Microsoft Internet Explorer family. The Document Object Model is more logical and the browser is simply more forgiving of inevitable mistakes.

In short, MSIE more often does what you want, not just what you say.
